摘要 A system for time gap based monitoring for identifying an event candidate within a server managed wireless node network may include an ID node monitored by a master node. The system's master node is operative to receive multiples signals from the ID node; and use a timer on the master node to determine time gaps between successive received signals. The master node then compares the signals to identify a change in an observed parameter of the signals; identifies the event candidate when at least one of the identified change in the observed parameter and the detected time gaps matches an event criteria related to the ID node; and then sends a message to the server reporting the event candidate relative to the ID node.

An enhanced time gap based monitoring system for identifying an event candidate within a wireless node network having a server, the system comprising: at least one ID node disposed at a low level within the wireless node network, the ID node being incapable of communicating directly with the server; a master node disposed at a middle level within the wireless node network as a monitoring intermediary between the ID node and the server, wherein the master node further comprises a master node processing unit,a memory storage coupled to the master node processing unit, the memory storage maintaining event detection engine code for execution by the master node processing unit,a timer coupled to the node processing unit;a first communication interface coupled to the node processing unit and operative to communicate directly the ID node over a first communication path;a second communication interface coupled to the node processing unit and operative to communicate directly with the server over a second communication path, wherein the first communication path is distinct from the second communication path; wherein the ID node broadcasts a plurality of signals over the first communication path; and wherein the master node, when executing the event detection engine code on the master node processing unit, is operative to receive, using the first communication interface, the plurality of signals broadcast from the ID node;determine, using the timer, a plurality of time gaps between successive ones of the signals as the master node receives each of the signals broadcast from the ID node;compare each of the signals to identify a change in an observed parameter of each of the signals;identify the event candidate when at least one of the identified change in the observed parameter and the detected time gaps matches an event criteria related to the ID node; andcause the second communication interface to send a message to the server reporting the event candidate relative to the ID node.
