PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming method capable of preventing or suppressing generation of bleeding between ink dots formed on a recording medium, having good reproducibility of color, and capable of forming an image having high image quality.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with an ink head 11 for ejecting a liquid droplet of photocurable ink to a recording medium, and includes a preliminary curing light irradiating mechanism 30 for preliminarily curing curable ink by applying an energy smaller than a standard energy required to sufficiently cure the curable ink by irradiating the curable ink with light. The preliminary curing light irradiating mechanism 30 is arranged so that the light from the preliminary curing light irradiating mechanism 30 is radiated to an ink liquid droplet flight space S between the ink head and the recording medium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
