The rotary cutting tool 1 is for the rough machining of difficult materials such as inconel (rtm). The tool is made of solid carbide with a plurality of helical toothed 10 flutes 6 of differential pitch defining alternating peaks 9 and troughs 8 and extending from an end 7 of the tool towards a shank 4 of the tool. Multiple teeth (11, Figure 3) on the end of the tool have a radial rake of 0° to 12°. A chip breaker facility (12, Figure 3) is provided on at least some of the end teeth. Each end tooth has a dish angle of 3° to 12°. The flutes may have the same helix angle or a different helix angle. |
