This manual transmission includes a "connection changeover mechanism M2" which changes the state of connection between the output shaft Am of a motor M/G and the output shaft Ao of a transmission M/T in accordance with a gear stage established by a driver's shift lever operation. When a gear stage for low speed travel (EV) is established, a power transmission system is established between the shafts Ao and Am, and the motor speed reduction ratio (the ratio of rotational speed of the shaft Am to that of the shaft Ao) is set to a first speed reduction ratio (> 1). When a gear stage for intermediate speed travel (2-nd to 4-th) is established, a power transmission system is established between the shafts Ao and Am, and the motor speed reduction ratio is set to a second speed reduction ratio (= 1). When a gear stage for high speed travel (5-th) is established, no power transmission system is established between the shafts Ao and Am. Thus, it becomes possible to provide a manual transmission for an HV-MT vehicle which can reduce the size of the motor and can suppress heat generation of the motor due to high speed rotation of the motor. |
