PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard engine control device having a variable pitch propeller, capable of improving acceleration performance when a sudden acceleration instruction is issued.SOLUTION: An outboard engine control device comprises: sudden acceleration detection means 503 for detecting a sudden acceleration instruction by an operation of a throttle lever 67. Throttle control means 501 increases a throttle open degree to a predetermined open degree regardless of the operation amount of the throttle lever 67 when the sudden acceleration instruction is detected by the sudden acceleration detection means 503. Pitch control means 502 controls a pitch angle so as to become a minimum pitch angle regardless of the operation amount of the throttle lever 67 when the sudden acceleration instruction is detected by the sudden acceleration detection means 503, then, increases the pitch angle from the minimum pitch angle to a prescribed pitch angle regardless of the operation amount of the throttle lever 67, when increase of an engine rotation number to a predetermined rotation number is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
