PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an imaging method which shorten a period necessary to display a live view image after the setting change of the imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: Image data is generated by imaging a subject via an imaging device 2041. The image data is processed by an image processing circuit 2206 to generate image data for live view display. Setting state information is displayed on a back face liquid crystal monitor 214. If there is given an instruction to display a setting item of the lowest layer as an instruction for a change which probably shifts to imaging operation when setting a menu of a hierarchical structure, live viewing display is performed on a finder liquid crystal monitor 211 or 311. |
