523,079. Skis. DESGRANGES, J., and MACHILLOT, L. L. F. J. Dec. 23, 1938, Nos. 37500 and 37501. Convention dates, Dec. 24, 1937, and June 24, 1938. [Class 132 (i)] Means for fastening a ski to a shoe comprise a toe clamping device having parts on the ski and the shoe and further means which normally hold these parts together but which yield and allow disconnection of the shoe and ski when an emergency strain occurs. Jaws 81 to hold the toe of the boot are adjusted on the ski through a pin and slot connection 87 and when they are suitably adjusted they are fixed by driving headless nails through holes 86 into the ski. A member 4 swings on the metal jaws and co-operates with parts on the shoe to hold the latter down. The member 4 is yieldably held by a spring 50 adjustably mounted in a casing 51. The heel may be held down by a strap 70 wound on a spring driven drum in a casing 67.
|
