A mechanical component for thermal turbo machinery, especially a steam or gas turbine, comprises a base part (10) and at least one additional device (15) being mechanically coupled to said base part (10) in order to influence the vibration characteristic of said base part during operation of the turbo machine. High-Cycle Fatigue at part-load can be reduced by enabling the mechanical coupling between said base part (10) and said at least one additional device, especially a bi-metallic (15a, 15b) or shape-memory-alloy device, to change with the temperature of said at least one additional device.
