The method involves conveying folded, printed products (12) by a gripper conveyor to a supply station for flat insertion products, where the station is arranged in a rotary direction of the conveyor downstream to an acquisition section (26). The printed products are detected offset and conveyed by grippers into a product edge region (30) relative to a center section in a direction of an edge (32) of each printed product. The insertion products are gathered with the printed products by the supply station in laterally offset manner.
