A method and an apparatus for detecting whether a camera is interfered and a video surveillance system are provided, which relate to the field of camera detection technologies and are used to detect, through acuity and information entropy of a frame of a first image collected at any moment by a camera, whether the camera is interfered. The method includes: acquiring a frame of a first image collected at a first moment by a camera; graying the first image; and determining, according to acuity of the first image after the graying and/or information entropy of the first image after the graying, whether the camera is interfered at the first moment. In the present invention, real-time image updating is not required, and the invention is applicable to a camera polling detection case.
