493,793. Reflectors. CURTIS, A. H. May 18, 1937, No. 13811. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] An open-topped trough reflector providing both direct and indirect illumination of a room has in it lamps mounted on a pair of strips 8 slidable lengthwise along a flange 9, and bent as shown to alter, if inverted, the depth of the lamp filaments. The opening may be covered with translucent material 10 to reflect down part of the upward light, and additional reflectors may be used to reflect on to the main reflector direct downward rays, and the trough may be in sections, bolted end to end, and enamelled interiorly or with a parabolic or other reflector inside. Hollow rods 5, (one containing the electric leads), fastened to sleeves surrounding tie-rods 2 between opposite sideplates 1 suspend the trough, so that it may swing freely without damage if accidentally knocked.
