A fire igniter 110 comprises body 112 which defines internal volume 114, and airflow means 116 to allow a flow of air between a region external of the body and the internal volume. The body is formed of a burnable material. The fire igniter may include ignition means (130, figs 2 & 3) for igniting the body. The ignition means may comprise an ignition prolonging substance comprising a slow burning fuel (126, fig. 2). The base of the igniter is formed with ridge portion 118 which define cavities 122 which define feet 124. |
