In an optical disc wherein a plurality of different standard information layers are formed in multilayer in one disc, there has been a problems of requiring much time for making access, since a kind of one information layer is not recorded in other information layer, and at the time of performing reading/writing by a compatible optical device corresponding to the plurality of optical disc standards, the kind of the information layer is required to be read out to select a tracking error signal generating method corresponding to the kind of the information layer each time the accessing information layer is changed. To solve such problem, information of other information layer is recorded in an area of one information layer in an optical disc wherein a plurality of different standard information layers are formed in multilayer. The access time to other information layer can be shortened by selecting the tracking error signal generating method based on the information. |
