495,694. Gravity-separation apparatus. HADDAN, R. (An. Tesch Aktiebolag, T.) Feb. 16, 1937, No. 28228/38. Divided out of 495,637 under which a Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 18, 1937. [Class 46] In settling apparatus of the kind described in Specification 495,637 comprising superposed funnel-shaped members 2 forming chambers to which liquid containing solid matter is delivered through pipes 1 so as to have a rotary motion in the chambers, funnel-shaped rings 4, which serve to suppress the whirling motion of the liquid, are arranged around the lower ends of the upper walls of the chambers. The clear liquid flows away over verticallyadjustable rings 7 into channels 8 for discharge through pipes 9. Screens 19 may retain froth and lighter particles. Baffles 11 direct the solid matter to the lower ends of the chambers, whence it is discharged through pipes 5. As shown in Fig. 3, the walls are provided with a layer of cement 13 in which the pipes 1, 5 are embedded. Fig. 4 shows a form of apparatus in which the pipes 1, 5 extend into the chambers from below.
|
