[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 13, 1937.] [Class 50] Solid fuels, particularly those of later geological periods such as brown coal or peat, are heated without a binder in a closed pressure vessel in the presence of water or water vapour at temperatures considerably above 100‹ C. (130-300‹ C.), the capillary water not being completely driven out, and are moulded in this heated aqueous state without any considerable lowering of the temperature.
