摘要 Embodiments of quantum clocks for a master/slave architecture are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a coupled pair of entangled particles is generated using a particle source. A first of the entangled particles of the coupled pair is used as a master clock. A second of the entangled particles of the coupled pair is used as a slave clock. Quantum states of the first entangled particle of the coupled pair associated with the master clock and the second of the entangled particles of the coupled pair associated with the slave clock are entangled by an Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) link.

A method for providing quantum clocks, comprising: generating a coupled pair of entangled particles using a particle source; using a first of the entangled particles of the coupled pair as a master clock, wherein the master clock comprises a locally generated pausable clock that, when paused, enables data latching by a port latch; and using a second of the entangled particles of the coupled pair as a slave clock; wherein quantum states of the first entangled particle of the coupled pair associated with the master clock and the second of the entangled particles of the coupled pair associated with the slave clock are entangled by an Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) link.
