Calebin A for osteoporosis

Disclosed is the therapeutic potential of Calebin A for osteoporosis (bone loss) caused by aging or chronic disease conditions like cancer. Calebin A is shown to down modulate osteoclastogenesis induced by receptor activator of nuclear factor (NF)-κB ligand (RANKL) signalling thereby having therapeutic potential for osteoporosis.

1. A method of inhibiting osteoclastogenesis in mammals, said method comprising steps of bringing into contact mammalian osteoclast progenitor cells with an effective concentration of calebin A to bring about effect of inhibiting differentiation of said progenitor cells into osteoclasts.
