ISOLATION AND STRUCTURE ELUCIDATION OF NOVEL OPHIOBOLIDE C OR 5-( (5-HEPTYL-1, 3-DIHYDROXYTETRAHYDROFURAN -2- YL)METHYL)-4- HYDROXYDIHYDROFURAN -2(3H)- ONE COMPOUND FROM OPHIOBOLUS SP. KTC 2293 FUNGUS

摘要

A novel compound was isolated from the culture broth of fungus Ophiobolus sp. KTC 2293. The structure of this molecule as shown in figure 1 was elucidated on the basis of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Mass Spectroscopy (MS) analyses. The name of the compound bases on the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) system is 5-( (5-HEPTYL-1,3-DIHYDROXYTETRAHYDROFURAN-2-YL)METHYL)-4-HYDROXYDIHYDROFURAN-2(3H)-ONE. However, the aforementioned compound was given a chemical name Ophiobolide C.
