Provided is a liquid crystal display device that comprises a display unit and first to n-th control units which divide the display unit into multiple areas to perform controlling, with n defined as an integer not less than two. Each of the first to (n-1)-th control units is provided with a one-way communication path from the control unit toward the next control unit of which the ordinal number is larger by one, and the n-th control unit is provided with a one-way communication path from the control unit toward the first control unit which is the next control unit, so that each control unit transmits, on the basis of the state of the control unit and a link signal received from the previous control unit, a link signal to the next control unit and controls the corresponding area. This can lead to reduction in the size and cost of each control unit of a large liquid crystal display device in which a display unit is divided and controlled. |
