摘要 Provided is a technology of reducing or eliminating unnecessary power consumption of an electronic pen device in a display system including the electronic pen device. This display system is provided with: an electronic pen device that emits light when the electronic pen device is brought into contact with an object; and a display device that displays an image at a position of a point indicated in a display region of a display medium by a user using the electronic pen device, said image corresponding to the point. The electronic pen device is provided with: a contact detection unit that detects states including a contact state and a non-contact state between a leading end section and the object; a light emitting unit wherein switching between a light emitting state, wherein light is emitted from the leading end section, and a non light emitting state, wherein light is not emitted from the leading end section, can be performed; a power supply unit that supplies, to at least the light emitting unit, power for emitting light; and a control unit that performs a control relating to the light emission. The control unit controls, in the contact state, the light emitting unit to be in the light emitting state, and controls, in the non-contact state, the light emitting unit to be in the non light emitting state, and switches the state of the light emitting unit from the light emitting state to the non light emitting state when the contact state continued for a predetermined time.
