The present invention addresses the problem of providing a control device for a power steering device with which cancellation of automatic steering not intended by the driver does not occur. The control device for controlling the operation of the power steering device of the present invention is characterized in that: one type of control is selected from assist control (28), by which a steering force is assisted on the basis of a steering torque input by operating a steering wheel, and automatic steering control (29), by which the steering angle of steered wheels is controlled on the basis of a steering angle command value; and when the steering torque has exceeded a predetermined threshold value while the automatic steering control (29) is selected, the automatic steering control (29) is cancelled, the assist control (28) is selected, and a steering angular velocity command value is set in accordance with an increase in the amount of steering torque due to steering based on the automatic steering control (29), thereby achieving cancellation suppression control for suppressing the cancellation of the automatic steering control (29).
