500,421. Weighing apparatus. GRIFFITHS, A. V., and AUTOMATIC SCALE CO., Ltd. Aug. 4, 1938, No. 23032. [Class 143] Tn a weighing-machine the indicator shaft g is rotated by flexible bands h, h<1> stretched between arms c, d actuated from the lever mechanism by a flexible ribbon against the resistance of a spring m or of a pendulous weight. The distance between the axis b of the arms c d and the axis of the shaft g is less than the lengths of the arms. The indicator shaft g is capable of making a complete revolution. The arms may be of a resilient nature to absorb shock due to sudden movement, for example by incorporating blade springs, p, p<1> in the arms ; alternatively a spring may be used to connect the ribbon h<1> to the arm d or the ribbon may be connected to the arm by a spring drum. The effect of the blade springs p, p<1> may be adjusted by means of screws q, q<1>. |
