The invention relates to a method for making available a driving permit to a driver for the use of a motor vehicle, wherein at least one biometric recognition feature of the driver is detected by a detection device arranged in the motor vehicle and information relating to the detected recognition feature is transferred to a central database, wherein information relating to, in each case, at least one biometric recognition feature of a multiplicity of drivers and a multiplicity of information items relating to the respective driver's licences of the multiplicity of drivers is stored in the central database, wherein for in each case one driver information relating to the respective at least one biometric recognition feature is unambiguously assigned information relating to the respective driver's license of the respective driver, wherein, in the event of the driver having a currently valid driver's license for the motor vehicle to be used, at least one image of the driver's licence is transmitted from the database to a display unit which is arranged in the motor vehicle, and said image is displayed on a display panel of the display unit. |
