Solid gel amplification method and apparatus for genotyping and pathogen detection

Methods for detecting nucleic acid molecules comprising the use of polyacrylamide gel and PGR reagents photopohmerized together in a mold to create an array of semisolid posts that serve as reaction vessels for parallel, small volume PGR amplification of template DNA. Addition of a fluorescent marker prior to photopohmerization allows for the acquisition of real-time PGR data and melting curve analysis directlv from the mold.
