A window assembly (3) for a container (1), comprising a window unit (5) adapted to be inserted in a window opening (2) of a container body (4), the window unit (5) comprising an outer facing side (10), an inner facing side (12) and a profiled circumferential edge (14), wherein a portion of the circumferential edge (14) adjacent the outer facing side (10) comprises a rising ridge (16) which acts to limit insertion of the window unit (5) into the window opening (2).
