Provided are: a calorie-reducing composition including a cyclic dipeptide or a salt thereof; and a food or beverage including said calorie-reducing composition. The cyclic dipeptide included in this calorie-reducing composition is efficiently absorbed by living organisms, and is excreted mainly as an unaltered substance or a conjugate of water-soluble molecules such as glucuronic acid, without breaking down into free amino acids. Accordingly, this calorie-reducing composition is useful for dieting, reducing calories, and preventing and/or ameliorating metabolic syndrome. |
