A parking space lock system and method for automatically recognizing a vehicle and a rentable parking space, comprising a smart parking space lock, at least one authorized smart terminal, at least one non-authorized smart terminal, and a server; the smart parking space lock enabling a vehicle to use a parking space or preventing the vehicle from using the parking space. The authorized smart terminal interacts with the smart parking space lock to automatically activate the parking space lock, generates a parking space renting time period information and uploads the same to a server. The non-authorized smart terminal queries parking space usage status information, requests authorization to use the parking space, and when authorization has been obtained, interacts with the smart parking space lock to automatically activate the parking space lock, and is also for payment of a parking fee. The server receives, stores and issues parking space usage status information and parking space rental time period information, and settles a parking fee for use of the parking space by the non-authorized smart terminal. In the system and method, the user does not have to activate a parking lock by alighting and performing a manual operation or by remote control, and potential users needing to use a parking space can use an available parking space by remote authorization. |
