The objective of the present invention is to provide a distributed device fault detection system that monitors and detects faults in multiple devices, wherein the distributed device fault detection system is inexpensive and is capable of reducing the amount of communication and the amount of calculation in comparison to the prior art. This distributed device fault detection system (101) monitors multiple devices (102) of the same type and detects faults in these devices, and is equipped with multiple device management units (103) that manage the devices, and a management server unit (104) capable of communicating with each device management unit. Each device management unit is equipped with: a communication section that communicates with the management server unit; a measurement section that repeatedly measures a physical quantity of the device; a distribution information generation section that calculates distribution information for the device from the measured physical quantity of the device; a distribution comparison section that calculates a difference between the generated distribution information for the device and overall distribution information for all of the devices transmitted from the management server unit via the communication section; and a fault determination section that determines whether there is a fault in the device, on the basis of the difference in the distribution information.
