The present invention relates to a power converting device and an air conditioner having same. The power converting device according to embodiments of the present invention comprises: an interleave boost converter; a dc terminal capacitor connected to an output terminal of the interleave boost converter; a load connected to the dc terminal capacitor; and a controller for controlling the interleave boost converter. The controller controls the phase difference between a first boost converter and a second boost converter among interleave boost converters so that the phase difference is a first phase difference in a first mode, and when a current ripple flowing in the dc terminal capacitor is a predetermined value or greater, the controller controls the phase difference between the first boost converter and the second boost converter from among the interleave boost converters so that the phase difference is variable, by entering a second mode. Accordingly, the ripple current flowing into a capacitor disposed at the output terminal of the interleave boost converter can be reduced.
