A system for monitoring the state of an electric current collector strip (1) designed to rub against a live trolley wire (2), comprises: at least one sensor device (3) designed to be mounted at least partially in the strip so as to extend over only part of the length of the strip, the device being arranged to detect the passage of a trolley wire when the trolley wire is in contact with this part of the strip, at least when the wear height of the strip in this part of the strip has exceeded a threshold value, the sensor device being further arranged to allow measuring at least two different wear heights. |
