The invention relates to a sensor device (23) for recording surroundings information, comprising a transmitter unit (1) and a receiving unit (2) which have components (3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) which are fully or partially associated with a rotatable unit (13), wherein the transmitter unit (1) can emit light pulses in an angular range (17) of the surroundings to be scanned by means of the rotatable unit (13), wherein the receiving unit (2) can receive light pulses reflected by objects (29) in the angular range (17) to be scanned, and wherein the reflected light pulses can be evaluated by means of a control and evaluation device (20) according to a light pulse runtime method, in order to determine and to signal the three-dimensional position and the distance of these objects (29). According to the invention an optical short-circuit device (14; 14a; 14b, 14c) is non-rotatably arranged on the sensor device (23) in an angular range (18) which is not used for scanning the surroundings, and light pulses additionally emitted by the transmitter unit (1) in the angular range (18) which is not used for scanning the surroundings as they pass over the optical short-circuit device (14; 14a; 14b, 14c) are transmitted by said short-circuit device directly to the receiving unit (2), in order to locate a zero position (32) of the rotatable unit (13) with reference to the angle of rotation and to signal it to the control and evaluation device (20) to signal. The invention further relates to a method for recognizing a zero position (32) of the rotatable unit (13) of said sensor device with reference to the angle of rotation. |
