[Class (ii)] Moist air from the top of the radiator passes through a heated chamber 3 and a manual cock 8 to the induction pipe and a further supply of water to the chamber 3 is provided by a tank 5 and a sight drip-feed 6 : extra air is also supplied through a pipe 11, heated by contact with the exhaust manifold, and a cock 12. The chamber 3 is fixed slightly above, or in contact or integral with, the exhaust manifold and has a safety valve 3. Tt serves as a trap for condensed water, a piece of wire gauze being provided in the outlet pipe for this purpose. |
