[Class 78 (i)] In belt conveyers of the kind which, over a portion of their run, are troughed for the purpose of containing a liquid, the troughed portion is supported by curved crossmembers attached to a pair of parallel spaced endless belts or chains. The cross-members 6, Fig. 2, are connected by plates 5 to the links 2 of endless chains 1 which carry rollers 4 running on tracks 20. The chains are driven by a pair of wheels 8. The belt 7 rests on the cross-members 6 on the horizontal portion of its upper run, and is driven from a pulley or sprocket 12 on the axle of the take-up wheels 11 of the chains 1 through a belt or chain 13. The belt may be driven directly by the members 6. |
