This endoscope system includes: an endoscope having an insertion unit and a connector unit; and a waterproof cap capable of being air-tightly attached to the connector unit. The connector unit has a base portion, a sleeve portion, and an air-tight release portion which is provided on an end of the sleeve portion and is capable of releasing the air-tight state between the connector unit and the waterproof cap, the waterproof cap having a cap body and an abutting portion which is capable of abutting against the sleeve portion. When the waterproof cap is attached to the connector unit, the endoscope system is either in a first state in which the abutting portion abuts against the sleeve portion more to the base portion side than the air-tight release portion to thereby maintain air-tightness between the waterproof cap and the connector unit, or in a second state in which the abutting portion abuts against or opposes the sleeve portion including the air-tight release portion such that the waterproof cap and the connector unit are not air-tight. |
