[Class 12 (i)] A. radial bearing has a journal member comprising a rigid annular hub 11 and a series of blocks 16 integrally connected thereto by slender neck portions 17 adapted to yield upon the development of oil film pressure between the blocks and the bearing member 10. The bearing surfaces 13 may be substantially spherical, or conical. To assist in the flow of lubricant to the bearing annular lubricant feeding lips 111 are fixed to the side faces of the blocks 16. The bearing member 10 may have a removable insert to facilitate assembly of the bearing, and the hub 11 is provided with side recesses 171. If the bearing member revolves upon a fixed supporting shaft the blocks may be formed at the inner surface of a revolving bearing ring.</p> |
