PURPOSE:To obtain a special carbonaceous molded body light, hardly scratched and excellent in thermal shock resistance by grinding a molded body obtained by molding and firing a carbonaceous material having a prescribed volatile matter, toluene soluble matter, coefficient of volumetric shrinkage and bending strength. CONSTITUTION:Carbonaceous material having 3-25% volatile matter and 1-15% toluene soluble matter measured in the case of adjusting the average particle diameter to 15-20mum. Carbonaceous material having >=8% coefficient of volumetric shrinkage in a bar-shaped fired body made by molding at 1t/cm<2> molding pressure and firing at 1000 deg.C. Carbonaceous material having >=200kg/cm<2> bending strength in the fired body molded and fired in the same way. A fired molded body obtained by pulverizing, molding and firing the carbonaceous material having one or more of these three properties of carbonaceous materials is ground. |
