An anti-rotation key, system and method of use thereof 18 for preventing rotation of a first threaded portion 14 (fig.1a) of a connector assembly 12 (fig.1a) with respect to a second threaded portion 16 (fig.1a) of the connector assembly. The key comprises a tapered first surface 26 for engaging with a tapered surface 22 (fig.1a) of the first threaded portion and a plurality of teeth 28 disposed on a second surface opposite the first surface. The plurality of teeth comprise a set of short teeth 56 and a set of long teeth 54, the long teeth extend further from the body 50 than the short teeth. The long teeth are angled with respect to a thickness dimension of the anti-rotation key. The teeth may all be engaged with a second surface 24, the teeth may be disposed in a single row, long teeth may be interspersed with short teeth and the long teeth may have a cutout 57 or shoulder along a distal portion. The method is for connecting the connector assembly, disposing the key therein and energising the key within the connector to prevent rotation. |
