The panel comprises two insulating portions 41 and 42. The first insulating portion is fixed to the second insulation portion using an indentation in the edge of one of the insulation portions, the indentation portion receives an extended portion in the other of the insulation portions. A surface of the extended portion may include one or more raised portions 42a. The insulating portions may be made of different materials having different compressive strengths and different thermal conductivities. The material of the portions may be an insulating polymer such as polystyrene.
