510,121. Toy electric railways ; remote control. VOELK, E. Sept. 27, 1938, No. 28103. Convention date, Aug. 5. [Class 132 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] A vehicle for toy electric railways is controlled from a distance by current impulses by means of a switch magnet which sets the switch mechanism, and in which a switch magnet is employed which responds only to a voltage higher than the running voltage of the motor of the vehicle, and has means for breaking the motor circuit of the vehicle while. the higher voltage is acting on the switch magnet. Current is fed to the motor o, p from the rail collectors q, r through contacts on a switch drum, corresponding spring contacts v, v<1>, v<2>, v<3> and contacts d, e maintained closed to prevent interruption of the current to the motor by the action of a blocking lever m on the armature b. Application of a high voltage current energizes the coil a to attract the end h of the lever m to release the armature b which is then attracted and causes the nose piece f of the lever n to rotate the ratchet g, which rotates the switch drum x, one quarter of a revolution at a time to bring the contacts and spring contacts together in turn.
|
