A louver assembly 10 for use on the exterior of a building. The assembly includes: a louvre carrier 14, a louver 12 which is supported by the carrier, and a locking device for preventing or limiting separation of the louver from the carrier 14. The locking means includes a deflectable first engagement element 26 on one of the louver or the carrier; a second connecting element 42 on the other of the louvre or the louver support and which is interconnectable with the bendable first engagement element; a lock 16 for preventing or limiting movement of the deflectable first engagement element, thereby avoiding or minimizing separation of the first and second engagement elements when secured. A process for assembling a blind element composed of a louver, louvre carrier and fastening system, and a method of aligning together a number of sequential louvers to form a shutter are also provided. |
