A container lid assembly 5 for covering an upper-end opening of a container 6. The lid unit includes a lower connecting member 1 having a peripheral ring 2; an intermediate covering member 3 configured to non-rotatably engage the container opening 62, the intermediate member also having a downward-facing pushing section 32; and an upper connecting 4 member configured to engage with the lower connecting member via upper and lower guiding portions 42 and 13. Rotation of the upper member causes the lower member to move relative to it and causes the pushing section to engage and push the peripheral ring outward, sealing the container. The upper and lower guiding portions may be a threaded connection. The guide portions may have an interfering end to prevent disconnection of the upper and lower members by over-rotation. |
