摘要 This disclosure is directed to an apparatus, system and method for retrieving a target material from a suspension. A system includes a primary vessel, such as a tube, a collector, and a two-part seal including an internal pliant part and an external constricting part. The internal pliant part may be a float and the external constricting part may be a sealing ring. The system may also include a processing vessel, such as an Eppendorf tube, a syringe or a test tube. The collector is sized and shaped to fit into a primary vessel and funnels the target material from the suspension through a cannula and into the processing vessel. In one implementation, the processing vessel includes at least one displacement fluid to be expelled, such that the at least one displacement fluid pushes the target material into the collector.

A system comprising: a primary vessel comprising an open end, a suspension comprising a target material, and a float comprising a main body, wherein the float is located at a longitudinal position within the primary vessel; a collector comprising an opening in a bottom end and a cavity in a top end connected by a cannula; a processing vessel comprising a first end comprising a plug,an inner cavity, anda displacement fluid having a density greater than a density of the target material, wherein the displacement fluid is located within the inner cavity; and wherein a portion of an inner wall of the primary vessel is collapsed inwardly around a portion of the float, wherein the bottom end of the collector is located within the open end of the primary vessel and the top end extends upwardly out of the open end of the primary vessel, wherein at least a portion of the processing vessel is located within the cavity of the collector, and wherein the cannula extends through the plug of the processing vessel.
