An innovative composite railway sleeper (1; 50; 100) consists of an inner structure made of steel and concrete (3; 52; 102), two shaped blocks (55, 56; 105, 106) made of plastic material and recycled rubber of particular shape, positioned in under-rail sections, and an outer coating (2; 51; 101) composed of a mixture of plastic and recycled rubber, obtained from Eol T (end of life tires): such sleeper (1; 50; 100) has particular shape and structure such as to render it suitable for mounting of fastening systems (64) of the rail (R) of the "W" type (for example those ones known in trade as SKL14 "Vossloh", "Schwihag" fastening systems or similar). The inner structure (3; 52; 102) can be arranged for housing a piezoelectric type system (103), for the production and networking of electric energy and for the housing of an underrail plate with transmission signaling system of safety of satellite type (115). The claimed invention can be used both in high speed and/or capacity lines and in conventional, metropolitan and tram narrowgauge lines. |
