Gift box with special effects

This invention is directed to a gift box for presenting a gift or other item to a recipient. The gift box contains various electronic components contained in some portion of the box which are used to effect, movement, sound, light or other special effects. The box may have one or more special effects which can be triggered automatically or by interaction with a user or gift box recipient.

1. A gift box comprising:
a box base comprising a floor panel and four side panels arranged perpendicularly around the perimeter of the floor panel and an open end opposite the floor panel; a box lid which fits over the open end of the box base, the box lid being operative to open and close the gift box; a first closed cavity contained within the box lid between a transparent cover panel and a backing panel; one or more mobile objects contained within the first closed cavity contained within the box lid and visible through the transparent cover panel; a motor module contained within a second closed cavity located directly beneath the first closed cavity within the box lid, the motor module connected to the one or more mobile objects through one or more openings in the backing panel and operative to cause movement of the one or more mobile objects; a switch which controls activation of the motor module.
