The methods and compositions are particularly useful for stimulating the proliferation of and/or self-renewal of intestinal stem cells, as well as for minimizing, preventing, or ameliorating cellular damage resulting from incidental or accidental exposure to radiation (e.g., cancer radiation therapy).
