A device for wirelessly communicating between one or more mobile communication devices over a wireless network. A primary mobile communication device is configured to establish one or more connections to one or more secondary mobile communication devices. 1. A method for communication between communication devices, the method comprising:
establishing, at a first communication device, a Bluetooth connection between the first communication device and a second communication device; after establishing the Bluetooth connection, using, at the first communication device, the Bluetooth connection to establish a wireless local area network (WLAN) connection between the first communication device and the second communication device; establishing, at the first communication device, a logical Bluetooth connection via the WLAN connection; and transmitting and receiving, at the first communication device, i) Bluetooth data packets and ii) WLAN data packets over the WLAN connection; wherein using the Bluetooth connection to establish the WLAN connection comprises transmitting, with the first communication device and via the Bluetooth connection, a request to establish the WLAN connection to the second communication device; and wherein the request to establish the WLAN connection includes a media access control (MAC) address of a WLAN interface of the first communication device.
