PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair iron enabling several kinds of curls to be given to hair with one iron, and to provide a method for using the hair iron.SOLUTION: A hair iron 10 includes: a grip part 1; a hair winding structure 2 which is connected to the end part of the grip part 1 and has an outer peripheral surface 410 and the circumferential length of which is changeable; a circumferential length changing mechanism 50 structured so as to change the circumferential length of the hair winding structure 2; heating parts 42a, 42b capable of heating the hair winding structure 2 so as to generate heat from the outer peripheral surface 410; and a pressing plate 3 structured so as to grip the hair in cooperation with the hair winding structure 2 in both before and after changing the circumferential length of the hair winding structure 2 by the circumferential length changing mechanism 50. |
