PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data collection system and its method capable of easily collecting measurement data to be transmitted by a sensor device without changing the position of the antenna of a data collection device in response to the progress of construction or increasing the intensity of electric waves to be transmitted by the sensor device.SOLUTION: A data collection system comprises: sensor device respectively disposed in the predetermined places of a construction site for acquiring measurement data indicating the state of an ambient environment, and for transmitting the acquired measurement data by radio outputs at time intervals; portable terminals carried by construction-related persons who move in the construction site for entering an area where the radio waves of the sensor device are receivable, and for, when receiving the measurement data from the sensor device, writing and storing the received measurement data in internal storage parts; and a measurement data acquisition device for, when detecting that distances between the portable terminals and the device itself enable radio communication, reading the measurement data stored in the internal storage parts by the portable terminals. |
