Disclosed is an aerodynamic air bearing (1) and a method for fitting an aerodynamic air bearing (1). To mount a shaft (5), at least one corrugated foil (5) is fixed in a bearing housing (3). Between the corrugated foil (8) and the shaft (5) there is a cover foil (7), with a coating (10) on a surface (9) of the cover foil (7) that faces the shaft (5). A partial coating (10) on the cover foil (7) creates texturing (12) in the surface (9) that faces the shaft (5).
