A check valve member (301) is sandwiched and held between the drive-side end surface (101) of a pump body (10) and the bottom surface of a collar part of an upper sheet (45). A reed valve part (35) is in a closed state when a pressure difference found by subtracting the pressure of a communication channel (14) from the pressure of a secondary fuel chamber (13) is greater than or equal to a predetermined pressure. High-temperature fuel in the secondary fuel chamber (13), which has been increased in temperature due to heat transferred from the engine side and/or the generation of heat in fuel that has leaked through a sliding clearance between a cylinder (20) and a plunger (41), is discharged to the outside via a discharge channel (15). Thus, the high-temperature fuel in the secondary fuel chamber (13) is prevented from flowing into a primary fuel chamber (12) via the communication channel (14) and from causing vapor lock. When the reed valve part (35) is opened, low-temperature fuel in the primary fuel chamber (12) flows into the secondary fuel chamber (13) via the communication channel (14). By the inflow of the low-temperature fuel, the fuel in the secondary fuel chamber (13) is cooled. |
